but not as usual
After our ground-breaking redesign of RTL Nieuws we were invited by the network to collaborate on an ambitious new project. RTLZ wanted to grow up from a daytime financial news service into a credible and sophisticated business lifestyle channel.
The strategy was based on the concept of “inspiring personal progress”. We translated this into a visual language based on constant forward motion, with a single-point perspective inspired by the cinematography of the great Stanley Kubrick. This consistent visual approach runs through the break bumpers and promos and a set of live action idents shot on location in the Netherlands and Hong Kong.
We delivered a range of assets and visual guidelines which ensured that all elements, both on and off air, shared a cohesive and unmistakable look. We also created a tagline which encapsulated the spirit and ambitions of the revitalised channel: “Business, not as usual.”
